Pahang's secret to producing straight A students 25 Oct 2006 M. Hamzah Jamaludin
KUANTAN, PAHANG, WED: PAHANG has found the secret to producing straight A students using a programme that combines teaching and motivation known as Pissa - the acronym for Projek Intervensi Semua Satu A (or All A1 Intervention Project).
In Pissa, teachers and motivators have been roped into to improve top students’ SPM scores. And the results have been impressive - from 132 SPM students selected for the programme, 76 took at least 10As and 37 scored A1s in all the subjects they took.
Proud of the programme’s results, Yayasan Pahang general manager Datuk Saariah Saad said Pissa has increased the number of straight A1 achievers in 2005 by 311 per cent compared to the previous year.
