Birth of twins a proud moment for princess
29 Oct 2006KUALA LUMPUR: A couple’s delight at the arrival of their long-awaited twin babies was also a crowning moment for Pahang princess Tunku Azizah Maimunah Sultan Iskandar.
This is the first set of twins born under the fertility treatments offered by the Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation for low-income couples.
Victoria Sivatian, 32, and Yogendran Sivananthiram, 34, welcomed their twins, a girl and a boy, early yesterday morning at the Pantai Medical Centre.

Tunku Azizah dropped in for a special visit upon hearing the good news.
"It was a very special day as we have three babies born under the treatment offered by the foundation. There were the twins, and also another baby born at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
"I can feel the happiness they feel as I have also been in that position. I was also a parent to twins, a girl and a boy, under the fertility treatment," she said.
The princess brought along her two sons, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, 11, and Tengku Mohd Iskandar Riayatuddin Shah, 9, who were born under IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) treatments and ICSI (intra cytoplasmic sperm injection) treatments, respectively.
Tunku Azizah, 44, who married the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang in 1986, recalled how she was only blessed with children several years later.
